aldorande: deux
Building upon the acclaimed self-titled debut, the Aldorande quartet pursues their interstellar trip showcasing their deeper love for the 70's jazz-funk & Fusion scene. Via the french-most-soulful Favorite Recrdings, deux extends ideas from the first record and presents bigger-than-life arrangements, reflecting again their high attention to dramatic narrative schemes, breezy Brazilian vibes, tempestuous funky grooves and strong cosmic melodies from outer space. Throughout seven tracks, the album sounds both classic and contemporary at the same time.
Aldorande is composed by a true all-star-cast of french jazz, including bandleader and founder Virgile Raffaëlli on bass (Setenta & Joe Bataan, Camarão Orkestra), Florian Pellissier on keys (Iggy Pop, Setenta, Cotonete & Di Melo), Mathieu Edouard on drums (Chassol, De La Soul) and Erwan Loeffel on percussion (Camarão Orkestra, 10LEC6). AOR singer Al Sunny and killer guitarist Laurent Guillet join in, and together they deliver a very cinematographic record. deux delves into the band’s main influences, with intense female back vocals giving a heroic feeling to the expedition. Available on vinyl, this record is fresh from 1969 to 2069.
