august wahh: vivid
Out of the Philippines to the world August Wahh is a singer and songwriter finding inspiration in the synergy of chaos and serenity. the brilliant and the mundane. 2019 was the breakthrough year for Wahh, having released a celebrated EP with renowned producer crwn entitled Labyrinth, followed by a series of singles - Elated can be played below - that got her worldwide recognition as one of the most promising artists in the neo-soul, r&b-ish scene. Released today, Vivid is her new EP containing three mesmerizing tracks - all expressing different experiences - and featuring the invaluable collaborations of London jazz artist Ashley Henry, r&b singer-songwriter Life On Planets, UK DJ and producer Girls Of The Internet, and Subculture.
Born out of lockdown and remote collaboration, Vivid expresses Wahh’s internal dialogue - speaking to herself and the world at large -, and its talented expansion in melodies. From inspired action to bittersweet realizations, from London to New York, from jazz to house, to back home in Manila. Through three tracks the singer/songwriter makes you feel all sorts of things and see all kinds of ways, while following a storyline that’s tied in by perfectly crafted productions. The making of the entire EP and its artistic process is shared with curious listeners on August’s web app ‘Tapes from Vivid’. Vivid is available in all streaming platforms.
