Released today, Invocation, is the long anticipated debut EP from Budapest-born, Berlin-based, pianist and multi-intrumentalist, Àbáse. Recorded over a two year period in different locations, Invocation is a collection of seven songs, in which Àbáse collaborates with some of the most talented musicians from the buzzing Budapest music scene, with special guest performers from different continents and backgrounds, adding their majestic contribution.

Most tracks feature two drummers and two bass players playing simultaneously, a flute player, a percussionist and Àbáse, himself, on Rhodes and synths, while guests - met during his journeys in Brazil, Ghana and Europe - complemented the composer’s ideas with their own cultural and personal touches. Invocation blends all those experiences smoothly.

From jazz to hip hop. From West-Africa’s afrobeat, stopping in Brazil’s batucadas, finally to the vibrant European sonic melting pot.
