Rooted in the rhythms of rumba, Daymé Arocena returns to Havana, to sing and produce Sonocardiogram, her most raw and arresting project yet. Drawing influences on Cuba’s intertwined rituals of family, music and religion, Sonocardiogram is a jazz-tipped record, with a cinematic feeling, carrying the sound of the island sun-baked, vibrant daily existence.

Holding sessions in a simple, repurposed artist’s studio in Havana and backed, once again, by a killer band of fellow Cuban musicians, the visionary singer, composer and songwriter has stripped everything back to the core. Currently one of Cuba’s most influential musicians, Daymé Arocena has been receiving growing attention from the international public.
