Porto's Eduardo Cardinho is a leading vibraphonist known for his innovative approach and unique sound, gears up and releases his third album, Not Far From Paradise, on the prestigious Barcelona label Fresh Sound New Talent. Blending jazz and improvised music with classical, and electronic influences, this new project features an ensemble of rising jazz stars, including alto saxophonist João Mortágua, Frederico Heliodoro on the electric bass, a dynamic rhythmic section performed by Diogo Alexandre on drums and Iuri Oliveira on percussion, and the textural wizardry of José Diogo Martins on synthesizers.

Following up on two niche but acclaimed records, Black Hole (Porta Jazz, 2016) and In Search Of Light (Nischo Records, 2019), Cardinho’s exploration of new sounds and approaches results in an album that is soaked with a mesmerizing sonic light across its eight tracks. There’s space and softness, with every element fitting in perfectly, highlighting a detailed production work. Having performed in some of the best stages in Portugal, occasionaly gracing us with his talent in the unique jam sessions at the Mr Bean’s bar in Porto, Cardinho and his bandmates lead us through a trip of sonic beauty.
