gazpa: no more house
Hailing from Porto, embedded to a talented, widely unknown but proud scene, DJ and producer Miguel Tenreiro presents No More House, under his alias Gazpa. The record just dropped via Jazzego, one of the most interesting independent Portuguese labels, that we’ve been covering extensively. Tenreiro is also part of the Gaztween duo together with Tito Romão (a.k.a Arctween) that released the surprising I at the end of 2021, and continues to develop their musical connection over synth jam sessions at the unique Mr. Beans bar in their hometown. Gazpa now showcases his innovative and exploratory approach with this six-track project that delves deep into the realm of sampling, offering a unique and captivating auditory experience.
Drawing from a diverse range of influences, including broken beat, deep house music and hip hop, Gazpa weaves through a mesmerizing selection of moods and samples to construct tracks that are eclectic but consistent in the record’s artistic vision. His use of samples as foundational elements brings forth infectious beats, intriguing sonic textures, and unexpected surprises, resulting in a distinct and refreshing sound. No More House is deep, sometimes uplifting, other times introspective, it has light and shadows, conserving a hypnotic element to it and delivering productions of the highest-standard (Minus & MRDolly mastered the record). Available on Bandcamp, for the heads looking for something fresh.
