The first post of 2022 presents a new independent project, which debut release came out on the last day of 2021. GAZTWEEN is a duo from Porto, formed by Miguel Tenreiro (a.k.a. Gazpa) and Tito Romão (a.k.a Arctween), that for the first time sit down to explore the touching points of their sonic influences. Released by Jazzego Records, I showcases that connection over six tracks that comprehend different genres: from liquid, passing by downtempo and dub to house music.

More than making sense, I flows easily and invites us to think and feel. Things start slowly with the downtempo breaks of “Intro” getting more and more condensed and making their way into “Boavista” featuring Shrumate. The transition into “Floco” marks the album breakthrough with a drum percussion pouring in… sinking in. The intellectual house textures of “7400” and “Clooney” blend in with each other, with similar free-flowing grooves and “Sopro” is a dreamy place to go when the night ends.. Klin Klop’s sensibilities are just another great detail in this superb debut project from GAZTWEEN. Available on cassette.
