henry wu: phone call

See this content in the original post

Master Wu announces the return of his original moniker with a kick that will be soon labeled as legendary. The works on Phone Call, released today, were maintained under mystery, with snippets of the title-track being shared as a teaser in the past weeks. Dropping on Henry Wu’s (a.k.a. Kamaal Williams) label, Black Focus Records, Phone Call introduces two solo productions from Wu, a track by his long time collaborator Wbeeza, finishing of with a diamond created by the two of them.

The start of this EP, as mentioned above, is a moment of glory. Wu’s vocals and kick leave no space for hesitation. Detailed but rough, “Phone Call” awakes tonight’s groove and functions as a prelude for what’s to come next. “No Better” is a bouncy anthem that once again counts with Wu’s sharp vocals, inciting a night-long head nod. Flipping to the B-side we see trequartista Wbeeza taking over to control the scenery and present a moment of pure-class in “Special”. To round things off, Wu and Wbeeza experiment and bring us to the studio with them. Naturally groovy. Phone Call will be available on vinyl. Shortly, cause we all know these are flying out the stores.
