Following a series of stellar releases on labels such as NDATL, People Of Earth, Balance, Paris-based Hugo LX presents a very cool first offering of the projects he’s been delving into: currently working on a long player to be released in 2023 and is lauching his own imprint, Doma Music. The Platinum Wave is a 5-track diamond, launched via Doma, that sees him partnering up with some of his most frequent collaborators - Kansas City trumpeter Hermon Mehari and guitarist Christopher Johnson, with the addition of French Caribbean pianist Tony Tixier.

The Platinum Wave is a groovy collective adventure that aims to propose a different sound in dance music. On one hand, is a continuation of a certain musical legacy, inspired in the sounds that hail from Detroit’s deep house, London’s broken beat and French aesthetic; and on the other, is a poetic exploration of today’s boundless production possibilities, as much as an intimate soundscape from four artists deeply involved in the Parisian creative scene.
