Bernie Says is Jake Milliner’s definite step into the spotlight. The South Londoner debut album, released through Melting Pot, is his transition from beatmaker/producer to a fully fledged artist mode. Having produced tracks for artists like Barney Artist, Hawk House, Bubblerap, Lord Apex, Zilo, Musiq Soulchild and T-3, his background prior to this project speaks for itself.

With Millinner’s boom-bap roots still intact, Bernie Says has a wide spectrum of sounds being explored - jazz and boogie with lots of heavy keys involved, courtesy of Jake himself and Alfa Mist who is guesting on the first single “Reminisce” alongside trumpeter Marcus Tenney. Other key players from the London jazz appear on the album but have to stay uncredited for contractual reasons. In 40 minutes, playing Bernie Says from track 1 to track 13, we’re taken into a special place of comfort - where melodies, beats and feelings come alive naturally.
