In our opinion, Joe Armon-Jones and Maxwell Owin have produed one of the most influential records o the past decade in the infinite blend of jazz with urban rhythms: Idiom (YAM Records, 2017). Together they embarked on a remarkable musical journey, culminating now in their long-awaited 12-track album Archetype. Over the course of the past six years, the duo has meticulously crafted this body of work, drawing inspiration from their shared experiences and the vibrant underground spirit of South London. Archetype is a homage to the power of taking time with music, as they refused to succumb to external pressures and allowed the creative process to unfold organically.
