Following a successful EP in 2019, featuring remixes from Osunlade & Pocz, Wono is a deep exploration of Koichi Sakai’s love of both electronic and West African music, in close collaboration with Ghana-born master percussionist, singer, band leader, teacher and songwriter, Afla Sackey.

Comprising 7 tracks, Wono goes from meditative moments, passing by acid infused slow jams, to contemporary approaches. An enormous blend of afro-caribbean sounds n the context of today’s electronic music. Via the UK based Olindo Records, Wono is available on a 500-limited vinyl edition.

"Wono" means "It's Ours" in Ga. As in that which you desire, will be yours in time, even if you do not possess it now. So don’t rush brother, patience is a virtue.
