London based drummer Moses Boyd rose to prominence in 2015 as one half of the celebrated free-jazz duo Binker & Moses (saxophonist Binker Golding was the other half). Throughout the last four years he broadened his stylistic horizons even further, leading to his new album Dark Matter, released last week. Tempestuous blend of MIDI sequences, warm acoustics, and curated vocal features, this is an album aimed squarely at the dancefloor, built to evoke feelings of joy, awe, empowerment, even outright liberation.
