musclecars: shelter (building it, still)
Going way deep into their love of grooving, soulful sounds, musclecars present their mesmerizing new EP, Shelter (Building It, Still). The duo composed of Craig Handfield & Brandon Weems has been building a deserved reputation in New York’s (and beyond) house music scene, through their party-turned-label Coloring Lessons, effervescent sets on The Lot Radio, and increasingly acclaimed productions.
Shelter (Building It, Still) is already one of the best EP’s of 2021. The pacific textures it contains, contrast perfectly with the intensity it brings. Masterfully produced, the three originals are accompanied by a remix from the one and only Ron Trent. The musclecars duo combines gorgeous piano licks and intimate field recordings, includes soulful moments that are vocalized by Brandon Markell Holmes, brings emotive saxophones, shuffling drums, and dreamlike pads together… and everything comes together naturally. There’s no adjectives that can properly describe this project. Having dropped last friday, Shelter (Building It, Still) is available on vinyl. Mandatory item of collection, via Coloring Lessons.
