needs: so many things

Let's rewind to the year 2000, when one of our favorite all time acts Needs released their third EP, So Many Things. This landmark release, via their own imprint Needs/Not Wants, marked a turning point for the Lars and Marek Bartkuhn & Yannick Elverfeld, as it coincided with a significant upgrade to their studio setup. With the addition of new equipment like a Kurzweil keyboard/sampler, a Mackie mixer, Lexicon effects, and an E-MU sampler, the trio discovered a whole new world of possibilities.

So Many Things captures the energy and spontaneity of this exciting new era for them. Recorded entirely on samplers without the aid of computers, the EP showcases Needs raw talent and approach to music production. While So Many Things would be the last time all three members collaborated on a full 12" release, the legacy of these trackslives on as a testament to their creativity and innovation. Now available on Bandcamp, with the promise that if the original DAT masters are found they will be uploaded. In any case this is gold of the highest-karat.
