retromigration & cem mo: darr's lane ep
Last year we found a very promising producer hailing from Amsterdam. Since then, Retromigration has been a regular in this platform, delivering high-karat-gold records via Ltd. W/Lbl, Wolf Music, Aterral or GLBDOM. He also has been participating on some compilations under the name of Malik Kassim, collaborating with his good friend Cem Mo (a.k.a. Midnight Flavor). Now the duo presents their first joint EP via Dansu Discs, counting with special contribution of German sax player Moritz Schuster.
Darr’s Lane EP is the second project on Dansu Discs’ sublabel, Brookland Jams, following the smooth Hyde EP from Readymeal Band. And smooth is the word that comes up to mind when listening to Retromigation & Cem Mo on this record. Their fusion of broken beats, jazz and instrumental hip hop is extremely well transmitted via three tracks that blend, in a spectacular way, analog and electronic elements. Unlimited levels of peace and grooves on this one. Available via Bandcamp, Darr’s Lane EP deserves a physical edition.
