retromigration: retro's archive vol. 1
This might be the 20th time that I present Retromigration in this space. That’s because he is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant producers in the contemporary independent music scene, delivering some of the very best musical moments I’ve experienced in these these past three to four years. With an increasingly diverse discography, that spans from low beat, afro-jazz influenced works to high paced, drum & bass textured rhythms, his delivery is consistent and is sonically spacious and ‘alive’.
A few days ago a friend of mine shared, as he usually does, new stuff from the Dutch wonderkid. In this case a DJ set in his usual RRFM Radio space (Amsterdam). This set includes a series of new unreleased tracks that naturally activated my collection addiction triggers. I was honestly expecting to have to wait much more for them, but last friday I ended being surprised by another one of those magical notifications from Bandcamp: New release from Retromigration. Yes, yes. Retro's Archive Vol.1 is the name of this compilation, containing six tracks and infinite grooves to play and revisit. Available in digital formats. And if you don’t know, now you know.
