Following last year’s release on Boogie Cafe, Rob Redford steps into the wonderful Local Talk catalog to present Drum Machine Soul EP (Part One). His style is cemented in polished interpretations of deep and old school jackin’ Chicago and Detroit house music, but on this Local Talk Rob takes us a step forward diving into an ultra-deep surge into the dark electronic soul of drum machines and MPCs.
The Drum Machine Soul EP (Part One) ranges from the quirky bassline-driven house track “Imagine” to a Detroit-ish deep house jam entitled “MPC Soul” and ends with the jazzy and broken-ish “Shades Of Blue”. Proper deepness for the house heads, soon available on vinyl via Local Talk’s Bandcamp. Yes, yes.
