In 2018, Andy Baxter introduced his experimental solo/collaborative project Robohands, with the acclaimed debut LP Green, through Village Live Records. Released today, Dusk, is a brilliant follow up. The bandleader (and main soloist) takes charge of all instruments with gliding ease, exploring the alleyways between introspective hip hop jams and frenetic jazz moments.

While its predecessor incorporated elements of jazz, krautrock and ambient music, Dusk drifts more to soul, funk, latin and experimental music territories, featuring up-and-coming vocalists from London and other musicians from around the world, including renowned New York horn player John Clark. From the UK, Robohands is a legend-to-be, moving serious weight on that vibrant musical scene. For now, Dusk is available only in digital formats, but a vinyl edition might be available soon, depending on the public reaction. From dungeons to rooftops, Andy Baxter’s creations are one of the best independent projects we can support.
