sam ruffillo: italianissimo ep
A year after the release (and the success) of Sports House EP, Sam Ruffillo is back to Toy Tonics with a brand new summer house record. Italianissimo EP, as the name indicates, is reminiscent of the Italian riviera sounds and the hippy days of Ibiza in the late ‘70s. The Sicilian producer provides smooth Balearic disco textures, mixed in a ecstatic way with Italian vocals, paying homage to how the early days Italian disco producers used to work.
There are no samples here. Instead a few guest musicians come to jam over at Sam’s studio in Italy. Guitar, bass and percussions over disco vibes and energy in a free-flowing way. Ninfa, a singer and DJ and friend of Sam, hangs at the studio while Sam is finishing his new tracks. She starts to sing along in Italian and the feeling is just too good… Italianissimo EP is an ode to free-spirits and to southern summer nights. Including tasty remixes by Gome and Musemeci - known to many from his fabulous Italo-trance releases on Diynamic Records -, this record is available via Bandcamp, courtesy of the one and only Toy Tonics.
