summers sons: nostalgia (deluxe)
We’ve been following the Summers Sons progress over the years. Since the mesmerizing The Undertones EP, released in 2018, that the two brothers from South London have been cementing their status as one of the most interesting acts in the alternative hip hop scene. With Christmas coming up they drop a deluxe edition of their latest album Nostalgia, originally released in September of this year. Turt (rap) and Slim (production) presents us a masterful coming-of-age rap album from a 90s baby perspective, maturing their jazz rap trademark sound.
Over the course of ten original songs, Summers Sons reflect on their past, present and future as sons, brothers, husbands, fathers and friends. Accompanied by longtime friend and musical partner C.Tappin, alt r&b sensation KeepVibesNear and MC/community activist Eerf Evil, their grooves are in top shape. The Deluxe edition brings us 8 new tracks, containing of two vocal remixes + instrumentals, two unreleased vocal tracks and two beat remixes.
