There was an essential release that we missed during the summer at o sótão. Austin hip hop beatmaker The Deli made serious waves with his previous album Vibes 3 and in July dropped its follow up Jazz Cat, which he delivers with gusto. Filled with the smoked-out, laid-back cut-and-paste jazzy rhythms, his trademark, Jazz Cat contains 15 instrumental tracks.

The title cut shows where he’s at, transmitting a vintage feel through scratchy snares, looping piano chords, and faraway — both in time and place — city sounds.
