the mole: high dreams
Hailing from Canada, The Mole (moniker for the music production work of Colin de la Plante) returns with his latest EP High Dreams, that dropped earlier this month via Circus Company. Across three originals and a remix from Dave Aju, he delivers trippy electronica textures that transport listeners to a dreamlike dimension. Known for his work with renowned labels like Perlon, Kompakt, and Wagon Repair, The Mole continues to push his own boundaries with this one.
Featuring a blend of uptempo dance tracks, High Dreams is characterized by its driving rhythms, hypnotic melodies, and otherworldly atmospheres. The remix by Dave Aju, a longtime collaborator of The Mole and a key figure in the Circus Company family, adds a fresh perspective to the original track, while maintaining its haunting and ethereal quality. This record is a tasty prelude of The Mole’s upcoming album on Circus. High Hopes drops on the 22nd of November and takes on beattape-like ideas (closer to The River Widens, released in 2023), ranging from ambient sound bath and hip hop sludge, up to micro boogie, almost House and more. But before that, we invite you take a trip with High Dreams. Available on 12’’ vinyl - yes, yes.
