turbojazz: optimistic (feat. jennyfire)
Tommaso Garofalo, a.k.a. Turbojazz, has been a regular in our choices for the past few years. His new EP via Atjazz Record Company sees him team up with Jennyfire to re-create the 1991 Sounds of Blackness hit “Optimistic”. This rendition of the track is packed with the finest Italian musicianship, with Turbojazz enlisting the skills of Fabio Visocchi (keys), Luca Bologna (bass) and Lorenzo Gasperoni (percussion) to bring this wonderful cover to a mesmerizing new level.
Optimistic presents three high-karat-gold remixes. South Africa's SculpturedMusic loads up a deep swinging vibes for those crazy about deep, meaningful house music. Label boss Atjazz makes his usual appearance, delivering his trademark soulful modern take… he never misses a chance. But the man who flipped this one totally is Zed Bias, one of UK's finest garage/bruk producers. Available on Bandcamp, Optimistic is another wonderful record to start the year in the right mood.
