will sessions & amp fiddler: the one
Will Sessions have established themselves as one of Detroit’s must-see live bands, with an extremely varied musical output reflecting their city’s roots. This soulful collective just released a new album called The One, their most cohesive and fully realized original work to date. Written and performed with vocalist/keyboardist Amp Fiddler and Dames Brown (a female vocal trio), The One is an album that tells the story of a man’s search for the love of his life, and the trials and tribulations that surround their budding romance within the city of Detroit, and of course, its inherent soul and night rhythms.
Stylistically the album has roots that go deep into late-70’s progressive funk, soul and boogie, with layers of live/electronic drums and percussion, funky synths and slap bass lines, all accompanied by the vocal stylings of Amp and the Dames.
Directly from the Motor City funky nights, The One is available in a double LP, shipping out to the world next week. The tracks that compose the project will make you shift from eccentric dance moves to intimate soulful moments with that special someone.
