april '21: recap
Francisco Espregueira
Continuing the incredible amount of brilliant releases from March, this month’s playlist carries on a eclectic note. Our favorite songs from every artist that we showcased during April are included, making this playlist another journey through what we’ve been into - which is hard to define… or describe.
Jazz is strong in April’s playlist. Kaidi Tatham, Myele Manzanza, Alfa Mist or Kiefer are guys that we’ve been following for some time. Hip Hop flags are carried by the amazing Yaya Bey (we’ll see more of her in the future), S. Fidelity or dreamcastmoe. Broken vibes all over the place, especially on the tracks from WheelUp, Beringei or Wearing Shoes. Ending with Bernardo Mota’s “Soul Kid”, paying homage to his work and the work of so many independent talent out there.
But before we go, let’s get into Stump Valley’s time machine and travel to the Melodj Mecca club in the 1980’s. “Riviera” is what we need.
To keep up on what's going on here, follow our monthly playlists on Spotify. Each month, each track enriching our shelves of music.
