arnheim: machine & horns
Francisco Espregueira
Via Anma Records, Arnheim (with the special help of saxophonist Johannes Sahmland-Bowling) showcases a variety of moods, supremely expressed in his new project entitled Machine & Horns. As the name indicates, this EP blends the serenity of the house-infused rhythms of Arnheim with all the jazz in the horns of Sahmland-Bowling, providing a moment of pure consciousness in us.
Machine & Horns contains three original productions. While the first two tracks deeply emphasize this balance and this harmony between mechanical tools and human expression, the ten-minute long “Blues Machine” focuses on the mechanical repetitiveness and such machine’s innate soul. XL Regular remixes “Circulate Home”, adding a tightly rhythmic feel and boosting up the tempo for the dancefloor moments. Machine & Horns has only four tracks but is filled with pleasurable moments. Relax and enjoy this one. Available via Bandcamp.
