aroop roy: nomadic soul remixed
Francisco Espregueira
Known for his eclectic productions that have been warming us for more than a decade, Aroop Roy is a British producer and DJ who blends together soulful organic sounds of afro, latin, funk and jazz with the electronic edge of house, broken beat and disco. Supported by tastemakers and DJ’s from diverse scenes and generations Roy has an impressive discography, having released many EP’s over the past years. His only album, the 2010 Nomadic Soul, is still a relic and one of the essential broken beat LP’s. Now, finally on Bandcamp, we recap 2011’s Nomadic Soul Remixed.
The hands, the minds of Simbad, Lay-Far, Vakula or Kan Sano serve up quality house, broken beats, hip hop and jazz influenced jams over the already incredible productions created by Aroop Roy. Nomadic Soul is a project worth to come back to, safe in O Sótão’s vault. Both Nomadic Soul and Nomadic Soul Remixed are available in the best digital standards on Bandcamp.
