Hailing from the ever-bubbling Melbourne independent music scene Astral Flex is a band of musicians/producers born out of an ascendant local culture of producer based, improvised music. With Felix Meredith on trumpet, Angus Gray on keys, Horatio Luna on bass and Odyssey Zelno on drums, I Can See My House From Here showcases a band reaching cosmic levels of musicality, depth and experimentation.
Recorded on the 50th anniversary of humankind's first step on the moon, I Can See My House From Here is presented in two forms; as a spacey nu-jazz improvisation on Side A, and as a collection of house/electronic remixes on Side B. Astral Flex provide a real escape to our imagination, exploring sonic waves that seem to travel to and from distant stars. It interrogates us first and then expands into mesmerizing, groovy melodies.
