The world is a vast and colorful place, and AZAR AZAR (real name Sérgio Alves) music captures that essence in his latest LP. Cosmic Drops follows up on 2020’s AZAR EP, and conveys a mix of jazz funk with influences from Roy Ayers, George Duke, and Donald Byrd, taking the listener on a journey through different musical genres and musical cultures. Comprised by 8 tracks, this album is not only a celebration of that diversity but also an invitation to dive into well crafted details and sonic ideas.
Troughout the eight tracks, AZAR AZAR evoke images of autumn leaves falling from trees, or dancing to a drum and bass beat at a Bristol dark club in the late 90s. Cosmic Drops is an experience, a melancholic journey that can take you from an Afrobeat party in Lagos to drinking a caipirinha with Carmen Miranda. Hailing from Porto, AZAR AZAR’s music is a blend of sounds and colors, a surrealistic space travel that transcends boundaries that can resonate with audiences across the globe. Available on vinyl.
