bugseed: far east joints
Francisco Espregueira
From the far east, the Okinawa-based producer Bugseed has been making a name for himself in hip hop circles with finely constructed beats and clever sample choices, showcased in multiple releases circling the underground music forums worldwide. Crossing the Pacific Ocean to L.A., the japanese producer partnered with the label Cold Busted, producing yet another bomb-tastic project - Far East Joints.
A mesmerizing pacific mist travels a long way, through many years of diverse influences, bringing dusty rhythms, layered loops and ringing instrumentation. Bugseed takes on classic old school instrumental hip hop vibes, manipulating them according to his distinct touch.
In Far East Joints, Bugseed guides the listener on a proper journey across the entire album. Released through one of the best instrumental hip hop houses - the mighty Cold Busted label -, this project is available in different formats. The vinyl, for the collectors, is probably the best way to enjoy such piece.
