Scents of UK jazz and London nightlife in the impressive self-titled debut from Caytra. Originally formed from a basement jam, the instrumental trio is a timestamp of each member's uniqueness and symbiosis showcasing a blend of hip hop, funk, jazz and rock music. Dropping today, Caytra is a five track record that combines the subtlety and colour of the band’s influences, blending technicality and dance-ability.
The five track EP is a carefully crafted selection of songs that flows easily between moments of pure jam madness and melodic bits that open our hearts. Togther, the talented trio moves the record forward with parts written to breathe an air of unpredictability into arrangements that, whilst tightly scripted at times, allow for the natural self expression that comes with moving into spontaneous moments of improvisation.
