Essential to the flourishing french electronic scene, Adrien Erra a.k.a. Cosmonection presents his new LP once again through Point Neuf Records, the imprint that has been the usual partner-in-crime to his projects. Hidden Places brings together two dimensions that cohabit in the producer’s life: groovy club feelings and introspective moments of reflection. These two different worlds provide the background for Cosmonection’s exciting new album, giving continuity to his journey of adressing, with touch and style, diverse sounds with magnificent production skills.
Hidden Places reminisces on sun-drenched beaches in the summer, exotic temperatures, treks through tropical forests, carnival’s ecstasy and fans spinning endlessly in sweaty rooms. The resources used by Cosmonection grab inspiration from different genres. From deep house and hip hop, to balearic and dancehall. Although merging different states of spirit, Hidden Places is a consistent piece of work, inviting an array of artists that add up talent to Cosmonection’s creation: ddöve, Cesar, Magycal N, KX9000 and Tour-Maubourg. Setting the tone for the summer ahead, this album is another good chapter in Cosmonection’s discography. Available on vinyl, via Pont Neuf.
