culross close: forgotten ones
Francisco Espregueira
Released through Esencia, Forgotten Ones is the new album from the experimental London-based quintet Culross Close, led by master K15 (a.k.a. Kieron Ifill). Following Home, from 2016, and Moments, from 2018, the new project delves further into the band’s experimentation on ambiance, electronic and jazz elements. Forgotten Ones is a work of details, which are all perfectly mastered for us to take out something from each one of them, creating a meaningful connection with the soundscape that plays.
The album is available on vinyl. A piece of collection, with a beautiful cover created by Maria Curcic. Don’t sleep on this.

“Much of the way in which the world operates today, at a human level, concerns exploitation, using another’s vulnerability for one’s own benefit, an idea so commonplace we only recognise its ill in the extremes. From reflection, to acceptance, to hope, Forgotten Ones delves into the contradictions of accepting the status quo while identifying it’s shortcomings.”
