Connecting the Afro & Brazilian tropics with the soundscape of London, Da Lata’s fourth album Birds is filled with this infusion of organic grooves and sophisticated funkiness. On ten tracks the Da Lata duo guides us through its extensive musical background, well supported by a family of collaborators with diverse musical expertise in soul, jazz, and gospel as well as African and Brazilian forms.
Birds comprises tracks that are inspired by journeys into the musical sources, tracks that have elegant horn and woodwind arrangements recorded in Belo Horizonte, tracks sung in various tongues… nevertheless it is a glowing testimony from the melting pot of the capital's sonic flavors, making this a London record.
