february '19: recap
Francisco Espregueira
February was rich in anthems that we will hear far beyond this month. We composed a playlist of 50 tracks to summarize the best ingredients we were able to use on this special cocktail. Eclectic as always: jazz, electronic, hip hop and soul music from all over the world.
Special praises to the new projects from Kassa Overall, Seed Ensemble, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Patrick Gibin, Oliver Night and Souleance. Trio Mocotó’s reissue has to be mentioned as one of the best new-old things we came to appreciate. To all those artists, to all those labels, releasing underground music with illegal quality: thank you.
Next month will be special here. The amount of great things that about to drop is almost overwhelming. On the last few days of the month, Harvey Sutherland released a new track featuring Jace XL. Tears of joy rolled. Sam Irl & Dusty passed by our radar and that was unforgivable. A special mention has to be made to them before getting into the long-awaited release of “U, Me And Madonna”, by 1-800 GIRLS: there’s something very energetic and nostalgic about it. It tests how much can we feel in a single track.
It all ends in a sunny afternoon with Azymuth’s “Villa Mariana”. Enjoy and keep up on what's going on in here. Follow our monthly playlists on Spotify. Each month, each song enriching our shelves of music. From dungeons to rooftops.
