jad & the: bells creek road
Francisco Espregueira
After releasing the Bernauer Strasse Shuffle EP last month through Beats Of No Nation, the Berlin-via-Australia producer Jad & The carries on with with his creative output, dropping another 4-track project, via the reliable London wax purveyor SlothBoogie. Bells Creek Road is full of deep and hazy vibes that will transport you to the back room of a smokey jazz bar.
On that mood, Jad & The invites the mesmerizing trumpet of Tristan Rogers for “Matano Trumpet Jam”, the album’s opener, which is later remixed by Aleksandir. On the B-side, the title-track keeps the jazzy vibes through pensive piano chords, while Rogers returns to star over the perky congas and heartwarming synth strings of “Pollock Street Blues”. From top-to-bottom, Bells Creek Road EP is a well-crafted collection of moody deep house fit for early summer sessions, free from troubles. Vinyl available, courtesy of SlothBoogie.
