january '19: recap
Francisco Espregueira
January went by like a dream with an eclectic soundtrack, suited for different parts of this month’s plot. The BPM’s changed through 50 tracks and with them the vibes flowed up and down in a frenzy way. Just like those escalators in the picture, full of people, crossing Hong Kong, a world away from here. We felt each of them and January’s playlist is the best choice to summarize the incredible artists we’ve showcased here.
Electronic approaches with Park Hye-Jin, Byron the Aquarius, Kyle Hall, Karmasound, Fredfades & Jawn Rice, SaiR or Kyoto Jazz Sextet. The Jazz virtuosity was brought by Greg Ward, Rosie Turton, Nick Walters and his Paradox Ensemble. The Hip Hop waves are, as usual, endless: Hentzup, Klim Beats, Moose Dawa, Athletic Progression, Joe Corfield, Slim and Harvs Le Toad. But, as future note, and if we come back to this special month, we ended everything with soulful moments that were felt with Blu James, Children of Zeus, Swindle and the new single from Little Simz, whom is releasing a new album next month.
This month’s playlist is composed by almost 100% of new stuff. Enjoy.
