koralle: fonografie
Francisco Espregueira
After introducing himself in 2019 with the acclaimed Collecting, the Italian producer Koralle steps up and presents his second album entitled Fonografie, reaching us via Melting Pot Music - one of the most influential European labels in the waves of hip hop. Coming from the roller coaster that was 2020, with the pandemic reaching Bologna, his hometown, in force, Koralle continues to win over listeners. Fonografie consists of 16 tracks and countless guests that are worth exploring by fans of the genre - while Twit One and Anti-Lilly are already established names, Turt (from Summers Sons) and Isatta Sheriff add real lyrical value to Koralle's highly polished productions.
And, in fact, the Italian is one of the producers of the moment in the European hip hop scene. The details of his productions, the choice of samples and the quality of the instrumentals are beyond excellent. The musicality, originality and groove are beyond what can be described. The feeling hangs in the air and the introspection follows naturally. Koralle is the owner and master of all moments, taking his jazz influences to an urban and modern realm. Fonografie has been prepared over the past year with the release of tasty singles that have accumulated millions of plays on platforms like Spotify. Now is the time to pause in the silence of the night, listen to this entire project, and look forward to the next Friday, the day when the album is available for sale - in digital and vinyl.
