koralle & kuranes: beat kiosk
Francisco Espregueira
The Italian city of Bologna is home to two of Europe's most talented beatmakers. Koralle and Kuranes have been friends for some time, but, strangely, they never released anything together. Beat Kiosk, which was released last friday by Melting Pot Music, made all this wait, for something that would be so natural, worth. Over 19 tracks, we listened to two minds communicating with each other in the same language. A language of groove, sensitivity and mastery.
It is in the north of Italy, traveling from the coast to the mountainous regions, that you will find typical kiosks, usually painted with red or green stripes, where you can order the delicious piadinas. The Koralle and Kuranes kiosk serves its own recipe of it, with smooth hip hop beats and finely selected jazz samples. The colored stripes are replaced by smooth bass lines and the conversations by pensive silences. Everything in this Beat Kiosk is well done and served with the greatest love by two producers passionate about sound. And we stopped on the trip, to sit down nodding our heads rhythmically, with this recipe for instrumentals seasoned with Italian flavors. Released by Melting Pot Music, Beat Kiosk is available on vinyl.. Don’t sleep, yo!
