Marking the 10 year anniversary of Wild Oats - the label created by Kyle Hall - Equanimity’s release celebrates the solar and the lunar side of a full moon with electronic vibes and philosophical thoughts from the label’s boss himself. Along with the engineering treatment from Chicago's very own deep house legend, Glenn Underground, the EP takes on a new foundational sound and assembly that inspires those thoughts, as explained in the EP’s notes.
Divided in a Solar/Lunar duality, Equanimity is masterfully produced. Reading those EP notes we highlight the following, mesmerized by the sounds that touch us so profoundly: "In a sonic sense, this connects to the idea of subtractive equalization or the removal of unpleasant frequencies... taking away the part of the sound you don't enjoy as much, in turn, leaving the pleasurable parts of the sound intact.” Available in digital and vinyl formats, Equanimity was released in October.
