los hermanos detroit: another day / binary funk infusion / let love live
Francisco Espregueira
The first Los Hermanos EP on vinyl in over a decade was released last friday via Mother Tongue Records. Gerald Mitchell, the man behind Los Hermanos and a longtime figure in the house and techno music scene of Detroit, showcases three tracks filled with soul, funkiness and groovy basslines.
Los Hermanos takes us from the gospel tones of the dancefloor smasher “Another Day”; passing by the electric techno-jazz of “Binary Funk Infusion” featuring Bob Rogue, which makes us believe that Herbie Hancock is releasing music on Axis Records; to the magnificent and melting closure with “Let Love Live” featuring the incredible voice of Billy Love (with whom Mitchell collaborated in the recent Celebrity BBQ Sauce project). The wait for this release on vinyl was definitely worth. Courtesy of Mother Tongue.
