ol' burger beats: daybreaks
Francisco Espregueira
The success of the Beat Jazz International series, since last year’s Waking Dreams by Philathrope, has a new chapter with one of our favorite hip hop producers Ol’ Burger Beats. Daybreaks is another ace record from the Norwegian artist, composed by 17 tracks that make more sense when played together. From the first song, Ole’s trademark approach, based in high quality jazz and soul samples, sets a familiar scenario that we can only trace back to his other creations.
Daybreaks compiles old and new material, rooted on a similar mood. After Philanthrope's opener and the follow-up's by IAMPAUL (Something Between) and Flitz&Suppe (Ijin), Ol' Burger Beats joins the roster with this deep journey into jazz, soul and hip hop. The vinyl edition is limited to 300 copies, that probably are going to be sold out very soon.
