Following 2019’s Listeners, Adam Scrimshire keeps his music production rhythm in full stride, releasing via his own Albert’s Favourites his fifth album. Drawing inspiration from jazz, soul and electronic music of all styles, Believers Vol. 1 takes us through a variety of approaches that have been a trademark in Scrimshire’s work, always experimenting: from energetic Afro-disco through lushly orchestrated neo-soul to harmonious jazz experiments.
Accompanied by numerous guest artists, such as And Is Phi, K.O.G., Omar and others, Scrimshire’s waves of sound transmit warmth and hope, reaching out its listeners with a sonic embrace. Believers Vol. 1 is also a love letter to black music and black artists that shaped his musical taste, from his very first memories of music until now.
