september '18: recap #2
Francisco Espregueira
Before going on a month’s hiatus, o sótão keeps on playing some of the best new artists releasing innovative and exciting projects. the playlist of September contains 50 tracks reviewing the best we've showcased in here during this month.
It all started with a lot of fresh hip hop vibes - Like, Benaddict, Summers Sons, Kreaem, Joe Corfield, The Deli. Then it came the modern jazz on the drums of Yussef Dayes, on the keys of Alfa Mist, Kamaal Williams or Amaro Freitas, on the saxophone of Pete Beardsworth.
Warm rhythms on Noname’s incredible release - Room 25 - and Barney Artist’s debut album - Home Is Where the Art Is. Groovy soul on Allysha Joy Acadie : Raw, causing our hearts to skip some beats. And then it was night. Boogie purple feelings on Kool Customer’s debut, taking us back in steez to an era where synths were everywhere - Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti are a duo we’re starting to dig.
Further into the end of the night. Alone. The spirit was different. Everybody was gone. There were only cigarettes and wine. And jazz.
