squidgenini: all the way ep
Francisco Espregueira
Picking up the special sounds of the Roland 303, and building the instrumentation of what initially was intended as an ambient B-side, we present Squidgenini’s All The Way EP. It’s pretty much established by now: acid's allure, with its captivating microtonal subtleties, has a way of awakening hidden frequencies within traditional Western scales, giving them newfound life and energy. This unique element takes centre stage in this mesmerizing project that blends the Australian’s voice with rich rich rich instrumentation from herself and talented people such as David Versace and Charlie Hill.
Released under the Beats Of No Nation label, All The Way was triggered by an impulsive purchase of a clone of that Roland legendary instrument. The sketches evolved into an organic and soulful expression, resonating with hope for the future, boasting the creative talents of fellow artists from Meanjin/Brisbane, who contribute two enchanting remixes alongside Squidgenini's own 'Dream Space Mix.' The EP delivers a total of five unique tracks, each stemming from the same source and showcasing the evolution of Squidgenini's artistic vision. Available on Bandcamp.
