summers sons: the rain
Francisco Espregueira
Following Uhuru, partnered with regular collaborator C.Tappin, the Summers Sons brothers are back with their most personal and experimental work to date - The Rain. Picking up the pieces on their journey over loss, the duo explores a stripped back production style and themes of hope over grey days, sun over clouds.
Recorded over an 18 months period, the second full-length album by South London jazz rap group, takes on the sudden death of their step dad, conceptualizing that spirit. The Rain plays on a melancholic yet warm note, affirming Summers Sons artistry. Released by Melting Pot Music, vinyl’s are available - for the collectors.
