tour-maubourg: woodfloor dubs ep
Francisco Espregueira
Tour-Maubourg releases have been under our radar for a few years. The Belgian has dropped some classy music via labels like Point Neuf, Salin Records or Happiness Therapy. Following his contribution to Shall Not Fade’s six-year-compilation, he connects with the British label to release Woodfloor Dubs EP, a blissful journey through the most uplifting corners of house, making stops along the way at Italo, Balearic and cosmic disco.
Whilst the two jubilant opening tracks set the tone for the release, with groovy progressions through extremely well polished elements, “Interdub” is driven by hollow percussion and sees the record at its most stripped-back. On “Dub 003”, Tour-Maubourg teams up with French house connoisseurs Cosmonection and Marc Bianco on a warming deep house track. Finally, to complete the record’s joyous exploration of house styles, we listen to hypnotic melodies that sum up and capture the transportive allure of Tour-Maubourg’s music. Woodfloor Dubs EP dropped last friday via Shall Not Fade. Available on vinyl.
