67100: through the window
Francisco Espregueira
The fourth release of French producer 67100 (a.k.a. Fred Ficus) on Dope Tones Records, and its first EP, depicts an entire sunny day seen through a window, representing three different moments and three different feelings. Through The Window contains, therefore, three new originals, plus a groovy remix by Steven Wobblejay, and is 67100’s most accomplished work to date - mastering the blend of broken beat and jazz with polished instrumentation.
All the sounds are in place in Through The Window. The counter bass, jerky rhythms and deep violins have each the space to flourish in the infectious groove 67100 creates. The remix of “Morning” by Steven Wobblejay, takes us into an even more groovy and jerky dimension in which the rhythms and the Wurlitzer are intertwined in a sublime progression. Through The Window is available for purchase in digital formats on Bandcamp, courtesy of Dope Tones Records.
