a bunch of guys: let the rhythm hit'em EP
Francisco Espregueira
Previously known as half of Pablo Discobar Soundsystem, Dutch producer and DJ Rob Scholtens presents his new alias: A Bunch of Guys. Dirt Crew Recordings curates his exciting debut EP entitled Let The Rhythm Hit’em containing three original tracks and a remix from Fouk. Pumping, dusty house music for our ears, purely made for good times.
Opening up with “Filthy Roads” homages are paid to old school elements in house music, most notably in its chord progressions. A variety of ingredients are blended together and each track has its own taste. Smooth jazzy drums and double bass appear in the title-track; Detroit flavors, funky keys solo and deep electronic atmospheres compose the themes in “Launch VII”; and the EP ends with a raw and rolling Chicago-esque house interpretation of “Let The Rhythm Hit’em”, created by Fouk, finishing this wonderful project in style. Available in vinyl, via Dirt Crew Recordings.
